Happy Friday Chris,
It's Donato's foster daughter...he adopted her when she was 13 and now she's a bright 20 year old interning with Tarina. Really wonderful.

Hope you and the lovely lady are well! x

and ...
but other people. i don't know nina but i really love her "style." yes, style. i know ... anyone can pick up the very trendy holga and make photos but ... she does it CONSISTENTLY and very well. love to see wank try his hand with one. could you fucking imagine? i think the uber community is lucky to have people like her.

and ... my little friend cha .. she just redid her website!

love the work she's posted! :)

okay ... see ... i can be nice and less full of vitriol sometimes.

'specially after i eat! :)

it's like an oven in l.a. today!

i still do. ;)

but at least she's beautiful.

@RPolom: hope you sort that lab-issue out! looking forward to seeing your work, mate.

Yeah her work is really unique, I've been following her for a few weeks now.

As regards to your last post, on marketing most pro's have websites, they just don't gear wank the way rockwell does. I could go on a rant myself on that guy, and those that follow his advice. I met one the other day, he said why don't I use zoom lens, because Rockwell says you miss too much with prime lens.

Although Irelands top commercial photographer does not have a website, or even listed in the phone book. How the hell do I get that kind of exclusivity.
Posted by Chris on May 16, 2008 12:39 PM
very. me, too, kinda.

marketing-wise many, in fact, have websites. no, they don't gear wank like rockwell does. if anyone says, "rockwell says..." to me ... i'm going to fucking kick them.

you'll get there. don't worry.

I agree with you 100%. I love Nina's work. I just commented on her blog about the same thing. She really has style... and apparently she told me she would be coming to Montreal soon! Would love to meet her and spend a day shooting stuff with her.

And I've been a fan of Charlotte's work since I joined deviantart... She takes me places with her photos. She looks like a great person too!

Hope you don't overcook! :)
Posted by Chris on May 15, 2008 11:26 PM
honestly, i've had such amazing experiences shooting with people. sev in paris. charlotte in paris. a friend in amsterdam. here in los angeles. matt in venice.

you should totally hook up and shoot!

she's an amazing person! we quasi-hosted her a couple of afternoons and evenings in l.a. and she hosted us in paris for some tasty raclette! :)

645 humming along?
Posted by Richard Po... on May 16, 2008 7:44 AM
I'm sure it mus be great! Especially for someone like me who doesn't have much experience.
We'll see what happens... would be great though. :)

Yeah the 645 is awesome! I just got scans back from last weekend and I'll be posting stuff real soon!!! The only thing that really pissed me off is that the lab scanner must off malfuntioned and many shots are.. well looking bad and over cropped (this is some idiots fault).

I did a test with my crappy scanner and they came out fine. So back to the lab
to give the a piece of my mind. For a moment there I thought it was the camera...it scared the shit out of me :)

I'm such a fan of charlotte's work. she uses light very well.
Posted by Chris on May 15, 2008 11:26 PM
she does.

and she's so humble about her material. love love love her stuff.
Posted by Chris on May 15, 2008 9:23 PM
@gonzo: wonder if they ate the chicken? i couldn't ever see cha kill a chicken, though.

i loved her place as well. a ride on a tram made it very close to where we were staying.

i met adis, too! so nice.

i'm funnier when i'm mad...

hmm... i'm sure that's not true for everyone, though. ;)
Posted by equivoque on May 15, 2008 8:46 PM
holga ga ga
Posted by Chris on May 15, 2008 9:21 PM
doesn't she do an amazing job, though????

i think so.

there's another guy who attempts what she does in nyc with a polaroid but his photos are so ... in your face and uninspired ... this girl has talent, though!
Posted by Chris on May 15, 2008 8:17 PM
@Joona: perhaps i am.

you can't do straight espresso????

never quite understood tea, actually.
Posted by Joona on May 16, 2008 5:03 AM
espresso's that tiny piece of shit for coffee? usually really expensive, at least for its size? i dont see any poitn drinking one of those :D
Posted by gONZOm on May 15, 2008 8:09 PM
i really like chas photography
when we stayed in her place she showed us some pictures she was selecting for an exhibition with some friends, i instantly loved the riot ones!
it was nice to see pictures of her friends on her wall too
and you are nice, its just that you show the things are bothering you with more emphasis ;)
Posted by Chris on May 15, 2008 8:19 PM
yeah for cha!

she did some nice riot work for sure! when we were at her place it was still under renovation. does she still have a chicken?

depends upon the day whether i'm nice or not. ;)

perhaps, yes, sometimes they're more emphasized ...
Posted by gONZOm on May 15, 2008 9:04 PM
i didnt see no chicken...
i saw a blowfish as a lamp =P
and stuff randomly thrown all over the place, but that was nice, it felt comfy :)
its a shame we couldnt spend much time with her, she went to england the day after we arrived there, to spend new year, left us her appartment, and came back the day we were going back to the netherlands
we also met Adis, a girl that lives there also, shes the daughter of a paraguayan woman, so we talked mostly spanish =P
it was under renovation when we were there too, i think it was done by february...
anyway...cha is a great girl
and when youre mad youre funnier ;)
